Lambda software.

This cover sheet is provided to orient you to to the Release 4 package.
The accompanying packing list should reflect the following items, all of
which should be included in the package:

  3339-0000 4.0 Band/Microcode Tape
  3343-0000 4.0 Networking Guide
  3340-0000 4.0 LISP Options Tape
  3341-0000 4.0 LISP Sources Tape

You will probably want to use the manuals and tapes in the order listed.

The Release Notes document provides an overview of the software provided
with Release 4.  It also documents the procedure for installing the
software which is provided on the three tapes.

The Band/Microcode tape includes the Release 4 microcode and LISP load
partitions.  The current revision of the LISP software includes:

   System version:    123.174
   Microcode version 1754

The new Networking Guide is a comprehensive document that covers
networking software enhancements, installation, configuration, and
operations.  The networking software has been enhanced significantly
with this release.  System administrators and users at sites with
Ethernet networks (Chaosnet and/or TCP) should refer to this manual at
the time Release 4 is being installed.

The LISP Options tape includes various LISP software modules, such as
ObjectLISP; they are described in the Release Notes.

The LISP Sources tape includes the remainder of the LISP source files
which make up the Lambda software customer set.
